Below are several less-visited destinations in Thailand worth seeing:

- Chiang Rai: Featuring a relaxed atmosphere, Chiang Rai’s art, language, music, and temples all reflect the city’s Lanna identity. Aside from its many cultural and historical offerings, Chiang Rai is home to a variety of wildlife as well as trails that make it ideal for hikers and nature-lovers.

- Sukhothai: Established in the 13th century, Sukhothai is a UNESCO World Heritage City. It is considered to be the country’s first independent state, and it contains nearly 200 ruins and several historical parks.

- Kanchanaburi: Home to the famed bridge on the river Kwai, Kanchanaburi has a dark World War II past but makes up for it with great natural beauty. The Erawan National Park, which protects a lush forest and wildlife, is located near the city, and there are several waterfalls in the city’s province.
